STEM Challenge Summit

The STEM Challenge Summits serve as a vehicle for developing innovative, real-world, project-based challenge lessons around a central challenge theme. The Summits bring together K-12, higher education, and industry experts to develop standards-based STEM challenge lessons that can be used as stand-alone modules in K-12 classrooms or STEM student clubs, or as a whole for student teams to compete in a year-long competition.

The initial Summit in 2013 involved a single theme (based around the Memphis Zoo Grand Challenge for a renovation of the herpetarium). 2014-15 involved a STEM Challenge with the Discovery Park of America. Each Summit partnership will result in a set of engaging STEM lesson plans tied to TN state standards. Online STEM Integrated Curriculum

One of the key initiatives of the West TN STEM Hub is to develop a set of online STEM and STEM-integrated high school course modules. Multidisciplinary teams composed of 10 expert teachers from the NW Rural Collaborative, the SW Rural Cooperative, and SCS have developed and delivered several innovative content modules.  A new set of computer science modules for middle school will be available in Summer 2017.

Download the step-by-step guide for assistance in accessing the educational modules as well as descriptions of each of the 29 modules!  STEM Online Modules
